I pulled the old plugs out and it the driver side back plug had no gap, and I swear I heard the piston touch it... I had r42lts plugs in it as the car when we got it had ac del 953 platinums gaped @ .050. so I have these tr6 plugs gap @ .028 and I it started fine, the either has a small back fire or it touched the plug again when warm, never did this before....what the hell gives? should the tr6 have the small spacer on the threads? these didn't?
no start TTA urgh....help?

That''s an 8.5 to 1 engine. No way did the piston hit the plug, unless the plug has the wrong reach.
Chuck he wrote down plugs BUT I ASSume he ment to write "injectors".

we just bought it, its the gray interior tta number 1457, the car came here a bit of a mess, vacuum lines all wrong, leaking turbo drain (bent), i have all books and records back to 1994, car was kept in very good shape, zero rust, very clean. took off the TE44 and put a old school gt3255 on it,
car had a full engine rebuild with good stuff, roller cam 212 and all the goodies. had platinum plugs in it. ran like shit. decided to do the obvious first things, plugs, (should have done wires but they looks very new accell),
original inj are 50's the new injectors which didnt work, alky from alky control, put a new dash pad on it, and buffed the shit out of it and cleaned it.
finally today its now running very well.
ill post some pics of it......
its painted lexus pearl white. has koni reds on the front, bilsteins in the rear, new tires albeit from 9 years ago, car has 80k on it, and byt he records has had about 4,000 miles on it in the last 15 years.
it has a ATR liquid intercooler on it with some seriously fucked up wiring by the battery for the ATR IC, with heat exchanger, seems to have multiple relays, and the shur flow doesnt come on yet.

I can’t figure out if it was stolen or not. ‘Story’ is the original owner didn’t like the interior and replaced it. I find that hard to believe. I’ve gone back a few owner’s so far to ask questions.

Yup, I’ve heard this story multiple times on the TTA forums. Owner supposedly had the dealership swap out the beechwood interior to grey. Great pickup!
