Before rebuild would not shift to second on wot and med throttle wouild slip 2nd. Clip broke on servo pin chewed servo and case up. Band was toast and one of the clutch pacs----dont rember wich one- with out the book on hand.

Replaced the case, new clutches, seals drum, band ----- cleaned all. had this issue took valve body back out checked again--saw no problem. One of the accmulator valve springs had a small bolt cut off and inside the spring to limit travel. think it was the 3-4 but we left it out this time. put it back in and did the following line pres test.

In manual second and low d1 @ 1000 rpm and idle Checking line pressure is @ 160-210 needle bouncing like hell. and can hear a rattle in trans maby evean buzz type noise. has to be a valve in the valve body.
spec is 123-138 psi -------min tv and full tv spec same psi
reverse @ 1000rpm (120 psi) --- spec 105-118psi @ min tv and (240 psi) at full tv--- spec 224-252psi

d4 and man 3rd @ 1000 rpm (70) psi spec 56-64 @ min tv and (180) psi spec 120-135 @full tv

park neutral @ 1000rpm (80) psi spec 56-64 min tv and (210) psi spec 120-135 full tv. but I rember thr rpms were higher on this test we did not recheck was prob more like 1400-1500rpm

Let up on the throttle and will shift second fine--- normal car driving if you call it that-------- grandpa. What do you think? :frown:

Hopefully you can get your answer here as i dont know... but by you living on the east coast if you want to get rid of h eadaches like i had send it to a vendor on this board & forget it & be up and running like your suppose to
east coast: Dave Husak, Chris at Ck Performance, Lonnie Diers in ohio, Brian Hoffer, I think theres V6Power somewhere in FL.

On the other side of Town but still excellent Bruce at PTS, Mike Kurtz at Century trans. IM a firm believer now in Vendors on this board you will save time , money & headaches.

But if you can doit your self thats a plus too. Bison also gives excellent info. If i left someones name out im sorry & typing in a hurry as im off to go to work, these are just some people ive dealt with or gotten in contact with. I hope you well on your quest on your problem.

Well my buddy found out today from best transmissions who dose alot of trans work for jack cotton. That the pressure was ok and the noise was ok too. They suggested I start with a virgin valve body and see what happens. Then if ok install a shift kit. I was told jack recomended ck performance for a valve body. Money is pretty tight not sure whats going to happen. got a few feelers out there for a valve body.
