My turbo has the hose on turbo going from one inlet to another both end are on turbo itslef without the Y splitter or wastegate solenoid hooked up can this be ok this is how car was when I got it, can this cause "overboost" make car redline early? PS I have another post going also about car not getting too many rpms before it breaks up. Thanks

you still need two hoses and a rjc boost controler between them . you still need to regulate boost if the y has been removed. or it will max boost your turbo under a load every time. too much boost not so good :) runs good at low rs sounds like ignition plugs wires coil burnt spark plugs with cracked insolators will do this too happend to me header leaks :)

NEW ign module, coil pack, plugs and wires and header gaskets still popping and breaking up but I will get the Y back on and I still have factory boost soleniod hope ok with that, any more suggetions are welcome? Thanks

If I read your post correctly, you are saying that the hose from the turbo boost port is routed directly to the wastegate actuator? If this is so, then you will not have a high-boost problem... but rather a LOW boost problem... where the highest boost you can achieve is equal to the spring pressure of the wg actuator.... typically 12-14 psi..... and this has nothing to do with the car running like $hit.....

Popping/breaking up can be caused by many things.... first thing to do is verify fuel pressure is adequate and RISING PROPERLY WITH BOOST!!!! Only way to do that is to DRIVE (not rev in the driveway) with a fp gage hooked up such that you can see it while driving.... If it's popping 'cause it's lean, the headgasket will be popping next....(or worse)....

The turbo has 1 1/4" port on it and then on the underside in wich I guess could be the W/Gate and I have a fp gauge mounted on fuel rail and it rises 1+1 with boost driving and I was just using for reference that car pops in park and driving conditions thats why I am stuck at this point

Yes, the factory wg actuator is bolted to the lower part of the turbo... so hose straight from 1/4" port at compressor outlet to wg actuator will do as I said above... is this the factory turbo? if so, is the large(er) stub/port on the backside of the turbo inlet bell capped? (or factory style, has a hose running from there to the front of the pass. side valve cover)....

I take it you ran a hose from the fuel rail to a fp gage where you could see it driving?? else, how could you see a gage 'mounted on the fuel rail' while you were driving??

Well, here is my scenario. I have a single hose coming from the turbo directly to the adjustable wastegate acutator. I was holding boost at steady 24psi no problem. When i bought my GN it was Tee'd into a large brass bleeder valve which is now gone. I dont have any problems with boost creep or low boost so i will run it like this until i break something else (only a matter of time)...

Good Luck.

Then you have a HD Actuator on the 3255.... alot stronger spring..... he doesn't (or shouldn't).... ;)

Well thanks to wire ties a blackberry with video and a test drive thats how I watched the gauge, and yes it is a stock turbo my wastegate does have a threaded rod that i think was set up by previous owner for "max" boost maybe not sure if it will hurt has been like that since 2006 problem came 2008 so this "bad breaking up" has been going on for a while
