You guys are probably right about the noise but in the Cobra with its side pipes I don't hear anything but exhaust.
The only thing I've heard about the gear drive is that it keeps the valve timing perfect. Its really a pain to get a new cam dialed in.
I've got a new Stage II block that I'm going to build as a spare and will probably run a Roll Master chain instead of the gear drive on it.
