I have a problem with the trans on my 2004 chevy astro. I attempted to change the fluid today. I purchased a filter and gasket kit from Napa. I had a hard time getting the "seal" that sits on top of the filter out of my trans. I had to take it out in pieces. I could not get the new one to go in. I had planned on taking to a shop and have them look at it tomorrow. I put It back together minus the filter and added 4 qts. of ATF. Now it will not go into gear.Does any one have any ideas ?Or am I screwed ? Thanks and Happy turkey day.

It's not going to move without the filter and seal. You install the seal by leaving it on the filter and sliding both into position.
