Would putting a non lock up convertor in a trans that had been set up for a lock up cause problems.

+1 but you can install a transgo non-lockup kit in about 10 minutes if you have the trans out. Only tricky part is getting the checkball out of the input shaft. The kit was cheap and directions were pretty decent.
