I'm replacing my stock DP with an ATR with an external wastegate. I'd like to educate myself about wastegates in general, so if anyone could post a link......meanwhile, do I need anything different? A remote boost controller looks like would be a good addition. The seller states 20lb was as low as he could turn the boost down, but I have no alky kit yet. How would I drop boost to say 15-17 lbs until I get one? With a boost controller, is an adjustable wastegate arm still needed?

Yes you will need some sort of controller. Go to the turbo section and ask there and do some searching as well. But post it as "I'd like to educate myself about wastegates". Hope this helps.

there are several options for external gate controllers, go with a simple knob style controller i.e. air compressor regulator. My "pal" put me up on this:D and the reason he couldn't go below 20 psi, was either he had his controller set up wrong, or the actual waste gate has a high psi spring inside. The gate will not go below the lowest rate of the spring inside of it. Some come with 8 lb. springs for example, and there is usually an array of different springs to swap out to fit your needs. Hope this helps. post up what kind of waste gate it is, and you'll find more help.
