Iam buying a NOS kit off a buddy that comes with a a fogger nozzle to go into the up pipe. I have never run NOS before and I just want to tinker with it a bit. I have never messed with it before because I have always heard about how unsafe it is. Now I'm not wanting to start a thread on wether its safe or not. I was wondering if some of the unsafe part of it is the fact that NOS is a vapor and gas is a liquid. Since the gas is heavier than the NOS does this cause distribution problems. ie the NOS does good job splitting up into equal amounts into the different cylinders. The gas tends to not make the sharper turns and makes rich and lean cylinders and then theres part of the unsafe factor. So I'm thinking NOS and propane together:

1. NOS and propane are both gases and should have the same distribution properties. no rich / lean stuff....no BOOM!
2. propane is high octane with good anti detonation properties....no BOOM!

This sound too off the wall to try? Jason

I think that is a good idea and very safe as long as the amount of nos added is small, and you keep an eye on the egt's. Based on what I've read here a 25 shot will give you no problem whatsoever.

There are injection systems that use liquid propane and nitrous, and these will allow a larger amount of nitrous to be injected. With our vapor injection we are prolly talking a few ounces of propane every quarter.

Adding some nitrous will make up for some of the oxygen that is displaced by the propane. Without making any other changes, my guess is that adding a small shot of nitrous ('50 shot?') to the propane will add 25 hp to the solid 40 flywheel hp that propane has been shown to yeild.

Good idea! You first!! :p

BTR makes a kit, used on the vette and viper, this propane wet shoot allows great HP increases.
it would work well and you dont have to worry about puddling, so no boom goes your intake.

Yea, we've had several people use our kits in that fashion. I haven't heard any complaints and usually no news is good news.

Oops I made a mistake the 40 horse gain with propain was at the rear wheels. I'm suprised Jay didn't correct me on this.

It would be cool to hear aof any other Dyno tests that were done measuring the HP improvement with propane injection..:)

I didnt really notice. I only skimmed the thread.

I have another dyno test in the works for propane. Hopefully will have some results in another week or so.

Is the horsepower gain from the propane injection of from turning up the boost?
