So here's the story, I got this a while ago from a local guy who tells me that he used to work on the line at ASC (which is nearby and he is of appropriate age to have worked there during the GNX's era). Supposedly, he grabbed a few of these out of the parts bin when the foreman wasn't looking so he could stick them on his toolbox at home
. Fortunately, this one was spared the cruel fate of clinging to the cheap sheet metal of a bargain craftsman box for all eternity...
There is a special circle in hell reserved for that kind of gross misuse :tongue:
I can't verify the validity of his claims, but it looks legit to my eyes. The orange release film and the thickness of the adhesive layer on the back match that of my NOS GN emblems. All-in-all its in very good shape, the chrome trim around the letters have a couple of very small inclusions, but you would need either my prescription lenses or an electron microscope to see them (forgive me for being nitpicky, but I like to be thorough). The pictures, I feel describe the quality of the part quite well.
Accepting offers, due to the unique situation I'm not quite sure what its worth. So the only question is, who needs it?
