NOS-safe or not?

i've got a race nov.7 (last of the season) and was wondering if a 65 shot of NOS would hurt us, we just want to ensure the win. we have the walbro 340 fp/fpr/9:1 com/214 roller comp cam/pt60/50#s injectors/new iron heads/rjc pp/new trans w/trans break and 3000stall/stock intercooler w/dutwiller neck/good tires/3" down pipe. we ran a best of 12.2 on a 10 psi launch with 19 pounds of boost, we know we can break 11.90s or better the way it is but their is no more test days untill then. the guy we are running also ran a best of 12.2. its a ZEX dry system we are borrowing that has its own little computer box to controll everything and a vacume line to the FPR to udjust it for the fuel demand. so would our compression(9:1) be a problum with the 19# run or could a 65 shot be OK.

Dont use it! This is just my opinion, but I would not use the Zex dry kit on my Buick. Since it just raises the fuel pressure to get more fuel in, it will put the pump at a really high pressure.

Get a wet kit.

Why not just up the boost on the car to get the extra power? Like 24 PSI?

If you had a wet system I would say YES use it with a #41 NOS jet and a #33 fuel jet; however, the dry system will surely spell problems for ya. If you insist on using it, I would run some C16 and up the static FP a few pounds to offset the added cooling of the spray. I've used the wet system and the above mentioned jets without ANY problems on a combo very similiar to yours....car freak'n flies with it too. At any rate, pass on the ZEX and up the boost to 25-30 psi and hang on!

The dry system wouldn't work on a boosted engine since the fuel pressure will already be raised and the kit won't be whats doing it. You will only be able to inject the NO2 and not any EXTRA fuel which will cause a lean condition. If you want t oexperiment with, fine, but don't expect it to be safe.

If you get the parts to convert it to a wet system you would be fine.

im going to(@24psi) and launch harder(@15psi) i just wanted to make sure i would be very victorious, but after talking with you guys i feel confident again(guess i paniced on a money race)



p.s. i'll be getting a bone stock TR and want to put an alky kit with all the fuel delivery goodies and see what i can do to it without any bolt ons(turbo/intercooler/heads/block/etc) and you will be the first guy i'm looking for
