...here goes....

If I take off from a dead stop and don't really get into it, my 200-4R shifts sort of soft, like stock.

But if I start getting on it when it hits 2nd it snaps fairly hard....as if it has a shift kit in it of some sorts.

This is my first TR and my first experience with the 200-4R trans, but it is my understanding the TV cable controls the line pressure.

Is it possible the TV cable is out of adjustment?

Or is it common for a 200 4-R to shift like that under moderate to heavy acceleration?

The trans most likely has some sort of shift kit in it. If it shifts at the proper speed, the T.V. cable is most likely adjusted correctly.

What is the proper speed it should shift at? I'll check into this.

Thanx for the reply.

Under light throttle it should shift 1-2 around 12-14 mph, 2-3 shift about 21-24 mph, and 3-4 shift in the 42-44 mph range. :)

Thanks, yes these are the speeds in which I saw it shift under normal throttle, usually 1-2 mph higher than the highest speed you indicated, and the torque converter usually locks up at 50 mph.

Converter lockup is controlled by the chip.

Mine shifts from 3-4 at 35 mph ,I haven`t modded the Govenor on mine yet though ,it was from a diesel application though & thats why I think it shifts at low speeds ,and yes my TV has been adjusted properly ,,..
