I am doing my second nozzle placement since I ruined my other up pipe (dont ask)
Is it really necessary to put the nozzle on the inside of the curve on the up pipe? It is a pain to put it there and if it is not right the braided line will hit on the MAF pipe. Couldnt it be place on the side of the up pipe or the front, or does that make for poor atomization?

This is a single nozzle application of course

I wouldn't think it would matter too much where you put it. Mine on my WE4 (dual SMC) are in the outlet of the intercooler. If it is an NOS style (it is, right?) you may want to experiment with facing it into the airstream if you haven't already. If you want to play with some different jet sizes, let me know... I have a bunch I'm not using right now!

Yeah its a NOS type. This time I am going to face it into the boost charge and I think I will mount it in the side. I just got my car running good again, and 16 psi sucks!

about the only place I haven't tried nozzle placement is the dog house. No discernable difference anywhere.
I'd say put 'em where you want. Who knows, maybe you'll discover the perfect spot :-)

so is this a pretty commonly accepted technique: spraying the nitrous against the flow of the air? what's the theory behind this setup?

i have a centrifugal supercharger (t-trim) and an air to air intercooler... where to you think the nozzle should be: between the blower and intercooler or between the intercooler and throttle body?

thanks!

In my application I am spraying alcohol, not nitrous. I dont think it matters as much with nitrous because it is atomized much better. If you sprayed alcohol before the IC it would all pool up in the IC.
I would spray the nitro as close to the TB as possible
