The nozzle for my SMC kit is too large for my application. Where can I buy nozzles that will work with the SMC kit? Brand and price please.

Do a search for McMaster Carr company they have them.

Also what size is printed on the nozzle you have?

I carry the M10 and M15 since these are the two most popular.

I dont understand how you can have too large a nozzle when all you have to do is turn down the pump speed... hence why you have a controller..

Typical SMC kit has an M15. M10's are usually used on their dual line kits...

Mcmaster Carr has the nozzles as well.

adjustability

It needs to run at a higher pump speed as the SMC controller won't turn the pump on at a setting below 3.5. My car is getting too much alky with the current nozzle. It's not a regal, but a supercharged v6 mercury cougar. So a smaller nozzle will let me run at a higher pump speed and get a better spray pattern also.

Why doesnt the controller work below 3.5?

I cant imagine a car that makes 350 HP + having to run soo little.. hp is hp to me..its not a 1600 cc honda... and be effective at controlling knock.

Why dont you get a voltmeter and see whats going on with the voltage to the pump. I mean 5-6 volts on that little SMC pump shouldnt be so much..maybe you got a bad controller and it doesnt regulate correctly..cuase if thats the case..putting a smaller nozzle may not help you.

Just trying to help.

SMC sent me a smaller nozzle, no charge. It had a M15 in it which I think was too large for my application and amount of boost. I'll be trying it out tomorrow.

Is there any other way of sealing that nozzle? Mine leaked so bad the alky destroyed the powder coating on my up pipe. I was thinking about using a nylon washer in place of that big metal thing that doesn't bend enough to allow a seal.

I've used nylon, teflon, and ultem for the washers.

Thinner is better so it bends up nice.

Or pre-bend the metal one in a vice to conform better.

Also use the JB Weld for a better seal on the outside, it works.

I haven't used it since switching to the more pliable washers however.

My nozzle is at the lower part of the turn on the outside of the uppipe. It points towards the throttle body. I milled a portion of a steel pipe coupler round. I inserted a 90 degree elbow (male) into the coupler and drilled the elbow to clear the filter on the M10 Hago nozzle (should use a lathe or drill press to drill into the elbow). I tightened the elbow to the coupler. Then I drilled a hole into the uppipe and inserted the coupler into the hole in the uppipe. I marked the location of the coupler (and elbow) in relation alky supply hose (hose from the pump to the uppipe). I removed the elbow and welded the coupler into the uppipe. I then took the uppipe and eblow to the powdercoater and had the uppipe powdercoated and had the threads of the elbow masked off and the elbow powdercoated. I reassembled the elbow and (since the) coupler now points towards the throttlebody, I can use a long extension and 10mm socket to install the M10 Hago nozzle into the coupler (now welded into the uppipe). You must install the nozzle into the uppipe before installing the elbow to avoid cross-threading the nozzle into the coupler.

Ive been using a simple 3/8 bonded washer as of late and so far so good..theyre cheap.

Dunno how it could leak, I mean if it dribbled, the air in the up-pipe should push the fluid into the motor. Unless your leak is at the 1/8 pipe fitting portion. There I could see a possibility..but not the up-pipe cuasing your probs.

Joe, I have the m10's and m15's in stock with the washers and elbow.

I threaded one stock up pipe and got 2-3 threads in it.

Pain in the butt to do and it's hard to get the nozzle in there threaded and you still need a washer.

Won't be doing that again any time soon. ;)

Shouldn't be leaking if all connections are secured properly as Razor said.

Razor, I have the SMC single nozzle kit and would like to convert to duel nozzle. Could you hook me up for 10 bucks too?

Thanks,

James

Ya ..but you probably have an M15..so to increase to 20 means 2-M10's and you'll need a "y" adapter, fittings, hoses, etc..

I used the NOS "Y" adapter and had to get the hoses fabbed...its an expense to get it done..
