I buy broken cars, fix them, then make a small profit. I am in the market for a handheld code reader and would like to know what's the best one out there available at at good price. Not looking to spend more than 300 bucks.

Wow You too huh? Believe me I just got through buying one that I've been checking out like 30/45 minutes ago. I was looking at the SnapOn/Blue Point MicroScanner 3; ($300) just go to SnapOn site under Products and search see video. Then I went to the forums for snap on and read a few negatives a few positives then I got to thinkin on one guys post about Autel MD802 ($300-350) is what he bought and said it was pretty good.
So what I do copy and paste it in browser and find reviews under amazon and read them all . Then I went to Autel website and looked closely alot of people was satisfied but was aggravating about downloadin updates. You have to do a lot of searching and reading wife told me to get off the net I've been on it all day.

What I ended up buying on the Bay... Was Autel Al619 do the same with the Amazon site read reviews etc. not many (5 or 10 reviews) I think.
But do the review on the Al519 which is the same as the 619 it just reads ABS/SRS which is the reason I picked this one in thefirst place.
Some do not do the abs you have to look closely. Also it does domestic and foreign vehicles which is a plus. Some just do some domestics and some foreign autos. I already have a Actron but plugged it in to a friends car and it wouldn't link to his Toyota Prius . I guess its outdated.
So I wanted an upgrade. I just ordered the Autel Al619 $169 and its has a lot of features.
I also looked at the OTC 3111 but decided not.

Only thing Im concerned about is the correct and proper update procedure which I will read my directions and ask on the forum before I attempt to down load any updates.

Oh Yeah do a review search on the Auto Xray as the poster mentioned above I think its ax6000 model not sure,,, type the model in on Amazon.com to get some feed bac(I do this with EVERY thing I buy on the net); I think Innova Equus sell a decent one just look at the reviews also they sell them at Oreilly's I think if you cant wait.
