Also the stock muffler isn't the hot set-up for a good runing car. I used to be a "purist" too, then I realised how dumb it was to preserve stuff that doesn't deserve preserving. The stock exhaust is one of those things.
With T-R's, there are so many "less than 100 mile cars" out there that trying to keep a car 100% stock with any more miles that this becomes an expensive and futile situation. You can waste time and money scouring the country for a stock muffler, etc., pay too much and when you are done making a the car 100% stock, your 50K or 100K mile car has more in it than you could go out an buy a 100 mile car for.
If I had a choice between to 50K mile cars, one was 100% stock and one was 100% stock but had a stainless steel exhaust with low back pressure mufflers, I know which one I would buy. It's like getting a Free 30 hp.
A lot of people misunderstand the beauty of the turbo regal. Eventually they will see the light, however (usually it's right after their 100% stock GN gets wasted by a 4 cylinder crapbox) It isn't what the car did stock that makes it worth anything anymore, it what they can do with very little modifications.
If you have your heart set on a stock muffler, I'm sure there are a lot of them sitting in peoples garages in good used condition. Post a parts wanted add and see what you can find.
