While many options exist I think by this place in time most turbo owners agree that current SM oils with 600-800 ppms is not sufficent when the oil back in 1987 when our cars were new under the SF stamp had 1,800 ppm.
There is no disagreement among all the experts that zddp is a lubricant that has been in oil for 60-70 years....its the levels that have changed everytime a new category is introduced.
The simplest solution for many is to keep using whatever oil you favor, and simply add one four ounce bottle of zddplus which will bring that ppm level back to 1,800. Its true special oils contain more zddp most are marginal at best.
The unique situation with zddplus is it was brought to market as stated by Richard Clark, who if you are not familar with, has without any doubt in anyones mind the largest collection of Grand Nationals/GNXs and related parts. Again true fact.
ZDDplus has Don Garlits as its spokesperson who in any race circles is well known for being a hands on dragracer with an incredible amount of National titles under his belt. The product is also sold by 4 cam companies. Isky, Crower, Delta and we did a private label for Erson cams....
We sell to major companies most engine warehouses, Eastwood, Moss Motors, Year One, Ecklers, National Parts Depot just to name a few. I see by your signature you reside in Bradenton, Florida. I myself, and Richard Clark will be in Ocala first weekend in November at the 29th Mopar event at Don Garlits museum show and have ZDDPlus available.
Companies like I mentioned, don't carry a product such as this unless it does what it claims.
We also sell direct to the major Studebaker companies, Thunderbird companies, Corvair Company etc. We have testamonials even one from Dove manufacturer who is the leading company making roller rockers in the US...they use it.
We even had the original oil from a 2006 Corvette ZO6 tested....over 3,000 ppm was n that oil from the factory.
Our company Kirban Performance, is the largest supplier of this product.
Wear issues is not reverseable, if you do nothing and simply use the current SM oil. There is absolutely nothing in our 4 ounce bottle that was not in the motor oil originally back in 1986. It would take 2 bottles of GM EOS to equal what we have in four ounces.
