Just recently I've noticed what seems to be a lot of oil coming from somewhere around the EGR valve. Is this something that happens when the EGR needs to be replaced? Also, the rubber hoses that lead to the solenoid always seem to "blow off". ????

Sounds like you have a substantial amount of blow-by - is the car smoking? The oil wouldn't be coming out of the valve itself because it's an exhaust passage, but it could be coming out of the vacuum diaphragm (which means it's not working either). That would mean you're drawing oil into the vacuum lines which is a sign of blow-by. Pull the oil fill cap off at idle and see if there's pressure - there shouldn't be. If you have pressure there, do a leak-down or compression test.

If you have an oil pressure gauge and happen to have a line running past there make sure it's not leaking. When I changed my oil last weekend I noticed that my throttle cable was leaking oil. Knowing that this is not possible I traced it to a leaky compression fitting for the gauge.

I was having trouble with my lines blowing off, too. But mine were coming off of the fittings (the lines have sleeves on the end that hook up to the solenoid). Evidently there's no checkvalve on those like on some other lines. I just glued them back into the sleeves and they're fine. If you do have oil in the vacuum lines, it will make it harder to keep them on under boost. That one is tough to wire-tie on because it's a funky double kind of thing.

Doesn't seem to be smoking any, I have a K&N filter on the oil filler and it doesn't seem to have any excess amount of oil in it. The glue sounds like a good idea for the hoses, I was thinking perhaps some rubber cement.
