Guys starting my new motor today and as of now i didn't put my oil cooler lines on is that O.K.? The motor is already primed up and its a go. If i put my lines back on should i tru to put some oil into the lines don't want a air block or anything.

Thanks Sean (aka) DOG

Do you have the adapter behind the oil filter installed?
You are refering putting the lines on???

Here is my thoughts. You said new motor, so if you don't have the oil cooler adapter install don't worry about it. Go ahead and run the new engine without the cooler. That way if it goes south on you, you won't get metal in your cooler.

On your previous engine, did you lose bearings or just rebuilt it due to mileage? If you lost bearings then the cooler in the radiator needs to be replaced.

Gary :)

Gary i busted a ring land on a trw forged piston and the metal i found in the pan was smaller then a piece of pencil lead and it was one piece.Pulled piston out and the metal was still attached to the piston. I just put a new slug in there and had the bore honed thats it looked fine very lucky i didn't ruin a block.

I just left them off because like you said if it goes won't have to take the oil cooler out.

Thanks Sean
