Oil Pan Bolts

What's the bolt size for the oil pan bolts that bolt the oil pan to the timing cover on a 20 bolt oil pan? ie. thread size, length and head size. And what grade should I use. I've lost the bolts and I have absolutely no idea where I put them. So, I'm gonna head down to the local nut 'n' bolts store and buy me a set.

The size is 1/4-20X7/8 and the head size is 5/16.

Another Question! Is the center bolt, towards the oil seal a different size bolt? I seem to not get the bolt in. This is a new HV timing cover.

If you're talking about the bolts that go into the timing cover, they are a smaller size...Don't recall what size they are off hand, though...sorry...

Yeah all three on the point of the oil pan that attach to the cover are 1/4 thread. Maybe they didn't tap the threads on that one?

hehe...maybe I should read better...I just re-read the original post...DOH!!! Also, check to make sure the pan gasket isn't blocking the hole any...
