Did a search and a lot of talk but didn't see any part #'s. GM, Napa either will work. Thanks

Dan

Gm part number for pickup #25505644 used with gasket number 24501259-both still readily available

Stay away from the aftermarket pickup tubes!!! If you look under the metal strip that goes across the screen on the bottom of the aftermarket tubes(Melling), there is a hole there...WIDE OPEN to the oil...No spring loaded shutter there like the factory...I had some trash go through mine and wipe out a brand new GM timing chain cover/oil pump!!!

You'd be better off cleaning and re-using the factory original or run down to the GM dealer and order the original #25505644...They are right around $20...

i have a melling pickup in my hands, and underneath it has a spring loaded shutter. Maybe you got a bad one?

hmmm...maybe I did get a bad one...I will have to check into that some more...But if it did have it when I first put it in, it wasn't there when I changed it out...buickpower, what is the Melling part # that you have???

edit...
Are you talking of one for an 84/5 GN/TR or the 86/7 GN/TR pickup tube...They are different...

the number on the box is 20-IS6. the parts people tried to get me an 84-85 design, but it did not fit in my oil pan ( i could have forced it but didnt). the shape of the bends were completely different than the 84 stock one, and that combined with the fact it didn't fit the pan lead me to believe it is for an 86-87, but i may be wrong.

Did you get one for an 84-85 oil pan? What part number did you use?
