I have an oil leak(big surprise) and it looks like it is coming from the bolts that hold the lower oil pump to the covero_O Can you put a thread sealant on these bolts and has anyone else seen this. It also looks like it is coming out of the pressure relief spring large nut :( Thanks

Kevin I hate to say it but it's not the bolts leaking. It probably the gasket, loose bolts ect. That large nut has a gasket behind it. Either it's loose or the gasket is shot.

I think I have the same issue... i'm still waiting for the weather to get better so i can get under the car, clean it up and see where the leak is .. All i can tell now is that It drips a lot of oil only when it runs.. its dripping from the motor frame cradle ( under oil pan ) and even getting some on the filter side lower horizontal bracket support plate for the inter cooler ..

I changed the paper gaskets and the O ring on the adapter once before but never used thread sealant on the bolts and was wondering if I should have. It drips and the car has not been started since December!

Only 4 of the small bolts are exposed when the engine is assembled and none of them hit an oil galley. The large nut is subjected to pressure when the pump is spinning fast enough to bypass oil. I would clean the hell out of that area and drive the car to the nearest parking lot and pop the hood.

I would hang a 1" wrench on it and make sure it's tight. If that thing falls out going down the road you're dead right there. You can remove it with the engine off to inspect the gasket (or metal sealing washer) and lose very little oil.

Make sure it's not coming from the oil drain line on the turbo. It's directly above the oil pump.
