Yes I would like to make sure everything is in good running order before doing any mods. And I will also do the spring cleaning first like I mentioned. And I thought I've read of people in the mid to low 11s with stock heads and intercooler and such.

Another thing on powerplate, it DOES work. the lean rich problem is on all early EFI systems.

my friends 90 mustang has that problem and he's trying to fabricate something to help it.

Hmmmmm

Well, you might be able to run in the mid to low elevens with the stock heads if you've got a good car. A lot of people don't agree but not all GN's were equal. There were fast ones and slower ones. Thats one(notice I did say one) of the reasons why theres so much spread alot of the time between what different magazines can get the cars to run. Motorcyclists did an excellent article on this years ago when they bought two identical cbr 600's. They tested both bikes with the same pro on each and one was consistantly a sec faster in the 1/4 than the other. Same fricking model bikes bought from the same dealer. Its the same with everything for some reason there are faster ones and slower ones. You get one guy who adds very few mods and has an eleven sec car and another guy who does the exact same thing and his car is .5 sec slower. Thats just how it goes. Thats why I put maybe heads. It just depends on the car. Some are faster than others stock. Do you remember when you had those slot racecars setups when you were a kid. For some reason 1 car was always faster than the other and you would fight over who got the fast one. LOL Good luck.:D :D :D

Gotcha :)

Thanks for the explanation. Lets just hope I got a fast one. Also I found out the chip in mine is an old hypertech "thrasher" chip to run on 93 octane. Are these any good or is it time to update.

Yes, from experience. :) My stock pump went 12.68 with 30lb injectors. However, I dont know if Id ever try it again. Thats pushing it. But if I were to start over with a buick again my choice would be:

1. Power Plate
2. Walbro 340 hot wired fuel pump
3. Scanmaster

That should be enough to get you going.

Scan tool
Fuel pump/hotwire
Valve Spring (trust me, they are shot)
Timing Chain isn't a bad idea either
Boost gauge and knock gauge if you don't have them already
Tuning
Seat time
Tuning
Tuning
More Tuning
A Chip (Depends what you have already)
Even More Tuning

With these things done, you should be in the 12's with some traction adn finally know the car enough to make up your own mind on what to do next.

This is an excellent list. Just a few thoughts to add...

1. Do not under-estimate the power of tuning. Get a good scan tool (DirectScan for the brave), and learn what all of that stuff that it displays means.
2. Right after the boost gauge/knock gauge, I would add an adjustable wastegate actuator. Actually, you can just modify your stock one for about $5. This will allow you to tune boost. The stock turbo and injectors can easily run 12's with traction.
3. There is something to say for the Power Plate. I would probably get that right about the same time you buy your adjustable actuator. It should allow you to run more boost without knock.

That's about it. Again, learn what all of those numbers on the scan tool mean, and tune, tune, tune. You'll find that you can get more performance out of your car for less $$$ if you take the time.

Pronto: I noticed in your sig, you've run 12.77 @ 103 with your Turbo T on a Thrasher 92, and typical tweaks. What octane and boost was that with? What kind of launch and 60' ft time? Was that on the street chip or another chip? Just curious. Trying to make my car un-slow. Currently running a T-92 chip as well. Would like to get her dialed in.
