Chance,
What group do you or have you served with?

Where are you located and what type of power are we looking at?

hey jake ever serve just wondering what tiped you off on my back ground most people never know im in fort campbell ky and on the HP front 600 at the most

De Oppreso Liber. Free the Oppressed. Special Forces motto.

3rd Group is at Campbell, are you on an ODA or ODB or support?

A friend of mine was in 5th and I have quite a few friends in "the community".

I was in the Army from '95-2001 mostly at Ft. Lewis in 2nd Ranger Battalion. I worked in Iraq for almost a year ending last Feb. as a private military contractor.

I have a TH400 I just built and installed in my Chevelle as a temporary deal until I put the 4L80E in.

If I sold it, it would fund the 4L80...

Your best bet would be to find a good local builder. Chris at CKperformance could hook you up with a TH400 reasonably.

I like PTC converters personally.

jake thanks for the tip i work 7th bragg and was on an A team

I know you didn't ask for opinions on which tranny you should use but I'll give my opinion anyway..... :)

Stick with the 2004R. If you switch you have to use a different shifter although I've heard of some using the stock one but they did have to fab some crap up to use a 4 speed shifter with a 3 speed tranny. You have to change the rear tranny mount for a 400. You have to get a driveshaft made. And you'll lose overdrive. $$$ in the long run.

Get in touch with Lonnie Diers. He has 4 2004R trannies for sale right now and may even work with you on yours as a trade in. And I've never heard any bad about his work.

I'm sure you'll put in just as much money as he's asking, not to mention the extra work, just to switch over to a 400.

hey chris already have a shifter its a three speed hurst lightning rod, some drive shafts have to be cut not all and i only drive the car 10-15 miles round trip to work and maybe 5 miles of that is straight though also the stock tranny mount works just need the 400 adapter all in all its a stronger and cheaper tranny
