Ok what exactly does a scanmaster do?

Ok see above, and whats the difference between scanmaster 2.0, 2.1, and a FAST system? Just how much information can it tell? What kind of readings can it give?

a scan master doesn't "do" squat....what it does do is display the various operating parameters of your car which is important if you are trying to tune your car

a FAST system is a digital fuel management system that runs around $3K if you are interested

Do a search on "scanmaster" and "FAST". You will have more than enough info there.

To make it short, a scanmaster reads the computer and displays the values on a readout for you to watch and tune with (somewhat).

FAST is a DFI and allows complete tuning control by you. Look in the "Performance ECM Upgrades" section of this board.

check out www.turbo-link.com there is a good comparison of various available scan tools on that site. FAST is a stand alone fuel management system & is pretty dang pricy, but worth it if you want to run 10's or better on ta regular basis IMHO.
