I have an old SMC kit that I have had for years and works perfect I run about 20-22 lbs on the street with no problems so my question is, Would going to Razors kit offer that much more than I already have to make it worth $530 for me? I mean as far as I can tell i could run a little more boost and a little safer but is that a big enough difference to change? Also what is the SMC kit worth used? Its the round bottle version. TIA

I did the switch, haven't put the Alky-control kit in yet, but i sold my SMC round bottle to a local syclone friend for 200 flat. I seen what others sold it for, so i felt 200 was reasonable.

I have had a few older SMC systems ... prob be ok where you are BUT if ya crank it up I would update it  we were picking up knock @ the 1000 ft ... played around with it and finally just sold it .. Melissa already had Julio's set up on her other WE4 that she sold so we just threw it on and no more knock   older kits go for $200-250

I switched, went from a 12.2 with the SMC, to the 11.92 with Razors, his customer service is excellent also. With a better 60', I'm sure that I can tune this to run a mid 11 at 5300 ft elevation. The very best the car had run on C16 was an 11.87, and that was on a cooler day than what I ran the 11.92 on.

Thanks for the help. I like the SMC but the progressive kit seems tempting. I dont drive the car much but would like to get to the track more and usually run a reds chip w 110 race gas as I didnt think the alky would be as fast. Maybe Im wrong.

I have never used a SMC unit, but I can tell you this, you WILL NOT be disappointed in alkycontrol. The reliability, tuning adjustments, and by the far the best customer service out there.

I thought Steve's newer kits were progressive? ... I know he's had em for awhile now.

It is progressive. I was going to give Steve's progressive kit a try as I was a fan of his original kit (For what it was). I emailed some questions about the kit, and he never replied back.

So I bought Julios, he seems to be around whenever I email or call. From what I can tell Phil, you're around quite a bit too.

My kit is the old SMC kit. Maybe 7 years old. One of the original designs. Long before any of the other kits came around as far as I know.
