sensor mount/sensor is being "cranky". Seems that the po has messed w/ the sensor and had it out of location. The ring knocked the sensor loose in the brkt that actually holds the sensor.
Got it fixed, and found that the back side of the sensor hits the timing cover, [original GM cover},when attempting to adjust it.
I'm looking to add a shim washer on each bolt. The location pin appears to be long enuf, so it will still register the brkt.. Y/N???
NE1 find this same issue? If so, how did you fix it?
Think I'll buy a late design brkt, as I have a new, spare sensor.

Years ago the dbl roller crank gears were too thin requiring a shim between the crank and gear to get proper alignment of both the chain and the sensor. Might be the issue you are having. Sometimes a shim was needed in front of the gear to space the balancer out.

Ken, doesn't appear to be the case. The sensor was hitting the ft cover at the seal area. The 2 AN washers took care of it.
