I have a 85 ttype stock block, heads, cam. I will be installing a 340 fp, hot wire, adj fuel reg, front mount i/c, the new 60 plus # high z inj by mototron, alky kit,14 inch k&n, i have a stock converter and stock rearend and its my daily driver. Would the ta 60 be a good turbo. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

ta 60 is a bit bigger than a 49, got 1 on my car and love it. with a little converter it spools up real nice.:D

I am going with a TA54 turbocharger, most likely from limit or precision. I am not using an intercooler.

Good luck!

I ran a TA-60 on my car for a few years. It actually spooled pretty good with the stock convertor, better with the 2800.

I'm running a TA-61 now,it's definitely more laggy than the 60.

FWIW,you're gonna have way more fuel than you'll probably ever need with those 60# injectors.Hopefully someone can burn you a good chip to keep it from being a pig down low.You have the 87 ecm?

I just have the stock ecm right now, I am going to get a thumbwheel chip. As far as the injectors i dont know who to believe. Gnttype.org injector sizing says fro 500 -600 hp to use @ least 57lb, and so does vortexbuick.com but the spec charts for the turbos say 38-42.5. But i'm sure its better to have too much fuel than not enough. Does anyone know who makes the open breather to replace the oil tube for the stock 85 valve cover.

Trust me,42#s are plenty.

The billet breather that everyone sells works on our valve cover.

If you're going with a thumbwheel chip I'll recommend a 16 position maxeffort.
