i am getting my shortblock built as the crank broke in the last one.
the car has a te44 and 3" downpipe already with 42.5lb inj

i have some left over parts from before.

i have the following:

BHJ DAMPNER
FORGED STEEL CRANK (MAYBE EAGLE)
STOCK RODS WITH ARP BOLTS
JW FLEXPLATE
BILLET CENTER MAINS

so do i just use the stock rotating assembly with the billet mains?

or install the good dampner, crank, and billet mains and get diff rods?

i want to build it for when i change the turbo which i am sure i will do.

Make sure and have the block align bored (not just checked with a straight edge). Shop should check the crank journals specs for the bearing you will use. i used the coated bearings with a forged crank. happy so far. you should check all clearances when assembling.

If you .....

think you will be getting serious in the future, I would consider the forged set-up. If cost's are a problem, you probably can get away w/the stock rods. It's the detonation that usually kills them. If you have an idea for a dream engine, then this would be the ideal time to start. These engines are $$$$!

GOING TO GO WITH THE STOCK RODS WITH ARP BOLTS,FORGED CRANK AND BILLET MAINS,BHJ DAMPNER AND JW FLEXPLATE.
might as well use the parts i have laying around.

should be good to 550hp
