There is an orange wire hanging down in front of my fuse box. It is connected to a cylinder shaped (like a large capacitor) thing at the top of the fuse box (towards the sky). The dangling end has a large funny connector on it. How's that for a tecnical description :-) Anyone know what it is? Thanks in advance.

Matt

thanks - I'll check. My brakes seem to be working fine though. Is it normal to have a wire just dangling there in the fuse box area?

I hate it when my "orange thingie" hangs down, like that!
How about a pic?
Sounds like the "funny shaped connector" has come unplugged from the panel. Is the condenser mounted on the mount screw for the panel? On the sky end of the panel, that is.

its a noise suppression filter (capacitor) and the end plugs into the bottom of the fuse block at the bat port

Pic Sorry for the crappy phone pic, but you can see where the orange wire plug goes. Orange wire is kinda flushed out in this pic.
