I am personally aware of several people he's written to regarding his rare floor mats and he hasn't named any "experts" whatsoever.

stevemon (Steve Monroe) You don't know me, you know NOTHING about me. I think I pissed my pants reading your brilliant theory on how I made the mats myself.
Sheer brilliance,
Guy has a set of mats you've never seen. Thus guy must have made them himself. A guy buys a vise used in machine shop, thus guy MUST HAVE a machine shop,, Guy uses vise to make a set of Dies, Hours and Hours of machine work, Machine male die, machine female die, purchase blank heat tolerant rubber (matches GN interior), purchases hot die press, Embosses GN logo into rubber, makes purchase of correct carpeting(hardly astro turf), purchases correct color welting, purchases industrial sewing machine, Assembles set of floor mats. Ages approx 16 years,
Defraud GN community by listing on Ebay as original. Repeat until
millionare. (You are so on to me MUHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!!!)
I doubt your ability to theorize is any better than your ability to port throttlebodys.
Starting to sound a little personal here? I'm not done.
Did I purchase a vise? yes I did.(Outstanding detective work BTW) I do ALL my own work . I put my GN in the 10's easily making all my own parts. (and your sig is bragging about a 12 sec car? go figure) Although I could afford to "write a check" for everything I do, I"d rather have the knowledge that I did it myself.. (Whose parts, and who did your work again?)
IF I deceided to "make my own floormats" I think that I would have:
1. made a set that SOMEONE had seen before and
2. IF I had made a set that someone had seen before, then, not you or anyone could have told the difference from the original.
Like I said you know NOTHING about me, or who I am.
Chances are if you watch television, or can read, then you've seen my work. I just delivered a custom handbuilt $125K bike to a HUGE sports figure last week. So I doubt that I'm "p.o'd that YOU dissed my work skills" You can only dream that you could have have the HALF the ability.
As far as " I emailed the bidders on that auction & referred them to this thread. (I hate ripoff artists! "
Well, my first response (before I calmed down from such a unwarranted, assinine , TROLL like action on your part)
I considered taking one of my employees, and making their only reason to exist, was to slander (just like you TRIED) and undermine all of your professional /personal business endeavors(just like you TRIED) , but soon realized, YOU had already done that to yourself.
If anyone on this forum takes the crap spewing from your mouth (keyboard), with any creditability, and elects to do a business transaction with you, well they deserve what they get.

It makes me ashamed that I was once part of the GN community. When my car was deystroyed, I salvaged what I could and walked away. I had always intended to replace that car, just got side tracked with other projects. I needed to clean out my main garage and had a stockpile of parts. I never intended on selling any of the GN parts, but I also knew I'd never put those mats in a replacement car anyway. I tried to find out what they might be worth, so I could list them realistically. It was not until the response I received that I placed the ad. I stand behind all of the statements made in the ad as to the origins etc.
This is what baffles me.(a interested bidder informed me of this thread).
How hard would it have been to send me a e-mail asking for more info vs. making moronic statements, and namecalling to someone you don't even know?
Same applies to the rest of the responders who jumped on the flamewagon. I think of all the wasted resources, who could have helped find the answer sooner. It inspired me to get more info from some of the people I first contacted, who in turn involved even more people and research. The controversery here even involved even more . In the end it seems the mystery is solved.
It makes for quite an interesting story, I would have loved to share on this board. But at this point I just don't feel obligated to do so.

If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and sounds like a duck I can say very confidently it's a duck....quack, quack :D.

I still haven't heard an explanation why the RARE GN floormats are so differently shaped than every other factory G-body GN floormats made. I can understand a different design or pattern and GM offered several different selections, but they were all shaped the same....EXCEPT these one-of-a-kinds. I wonder why that is....?

Besides the shape which is obviously not correct...no one mentioned the GM Licensed logo?? Wasnt' there a GM logo on the orig mats?

First off. lighten up - just because you might have been on TV doesn't mean jack (unless you're in Japan :D ) So please don't try to qualify yourself with that...kinda lame... and nobody cares.

ANYWAY, this post is NOT about hurting you, it is about protecting the TR community.

I guarentee you, there are people on this board who have fogotten more than you will ever know about Buick Turbo Regals...so, you might read and learn.

I believe YOU think these are original, I believe they came in your car originally. I don't doubt the dealer sold them in the original car as original BUT, that doesn't make it "OEM correct" (more than likely dealer installed at best). If you choose to believe all a dealer tells you, that is your own naive choice but don't mistake OEM original for dealer installed.

You insist these are OEM original...think about it.
Have you ever seen another set like it?
Has anyone ever seen another set like it?
Is there a GM logo on them?
What is the RPO code for them? GM had 2 RPO codes for floor mats (cheap ones and the nice ones, neither of which look like yours).

Your "experts" (probably car dealers) hold no clout until we know who they are. There are many experts on this board, NONE can validate your claims - not one.
Do you really think there was exactly ONE set made and installed by General Motors and you happen to have this one set? Not likely.

Another thing - THESE WOULD FIT TERRIBLE. The shape is all wrong for the floor. Hardly and OEM mat, sorry.

Like I said before, I think they could be for a LeSabre GN though

These are fakes.

I've been a TR fanatic since 1984 and I've never even heard of anything with this design.

Also, I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) that the lesabre GN mat in the front was a one piece mat.

Complete fake. And if I'm wrong, I'll eat the originals from my WE4 I have locked away in my closet.
