Why doesnt my otc show knock amount or even if there is any knock, it always says 0 and no knock. I know it is knocking because I just put in walbro 307 and ajustable reg. and in third I can hear it when I start to lean it out too much. Im new to the OTC so its probably something Im doing.
Thanks,

Jason, if indeed it is knocking as you say, & the OTC isn't showing that, then the problem must lie in one of the following:

1) Knock sensor--Are you sure it's working? You should be able to tap on the block somewhere near the knock sensor & check the knock gauge. Do you have one yet?

2) ESC Module--This module gets a message from the knock sensor telling it that the motor is detonating.

3) ECM---Gets a voltage signal from the ESC module telling it that detonation is happening. The ecm in turn starts cutting back timing. How much of course depends on the amount of knock.

Jason, do you have the OTC in "Road Mode". I could be mistaken, but I don't think the OTC will even show the knock retard amount unless it's in Road Mode.

From what i remember it will only be able to say knock yes or no.
Must be in road mode to get retard.

Also if isnt in road mode your car will run poorly.

Thanks guys,
I,ll have to start testing the knock sensor and ecs modual. I have not gotten a knock gauge yet. I am looking to get the 2 1/4 round one poston sells, unless there is a better one.

I am running in road mode.

Thanks again,
