this is what happened to the turbo in my big truck yesterday as I was going up a mountain. thankfully I was empty so I could call a friend to come bring me home. I was about 1/2 way up when it let loose, but still had to drive it up & over the back side (4 miles) to get to a safe place to load the truck to bring it home. the good thing is it's a relative cheap fix, about $700. as long as the core is good & I don't visually see anything wrong.

looks familiar,i have a 2006 W900L.i was going up a mountain in pa and it blew,i had 32,000lbs behind me when that happened, man i really had to drop some gears that time.this was on a 600 signature series cat with a 18 speed and 355 rear.good ole rooster cruiser.lol

I would cut my left nut off with a dull rust knife to have that right there. it's far from new, I can't afford new but I keeping my eye on this one eBay Motors: 1993 Kenworth W900 L Class 8 3 Axles 3406 Motor (item 120090018576 end time Mar-04-07 17:00:00 PST)

Did the new toy make you do it?
no, as a matter of fact I don't know what caused it, there is a black mark in the center of the compressor wheel like it had a hair line crack in it.
