Have any of you guys experianced the paint on your car having different shades from the body, Bumper fillers?? I seen on TNX's project with his car in primer and the rear fillers are lighter.

I just painted my front end and the air damns & plastic impact strip are different shades than the bumper and the car.

Is this normal ???

???? I'm confused???

It only looks like a different color because I hadn't washed the body, they are so close in tint that the difference is negligible.

A solid color car like yours should be able to cover any minute change in tint, heck, it should cover up a vast change in color honestly. Now a light metallic could easily look different since it's all about the layers finally adding up and giving you your final coat.

My guess is that your paint is different. What kind of prep did you do to your air dams? It also could be a simple case of certain materials have a different look when painted. Look at C4 Corvette's, their front bumper is always just a tad off from the main shell.

Not sure I understand...you painted the air dams and bumper strip...why?... paint on a plastic piece and a metal piece will not look the same...ask any good body shop...but who really cares...there are a bunch of different shade blacks on the GN's...it would look dumb if all the shades were exactly the same...JMO...

BTW, I hope you added a Flexing Agent, if you didn't prepare to see spider webbing sooner rather than later.

Painting is a royal pain in the kiester, last night I was finally getting ready to spray some base and clear and the temperature dropped so quick that I had to stop right as I was cleaning everything with Prep All. I could tell by the slow evaporation that if I would have painted it would have ran like a mofo. I am slowly learning from all my mistakes. It will be a long while before I paint another car, I'm going to stick to motorcycles for a while, lol.
