Do you need to use adhesion promoter on the bumper fillers, rear corners(near trunk and tail lights) and the header panel?

Whats the procedure to prime paint and clear these items?

Is there a chemical paint stripper required?

Thanks for the info!

Also the headlight bezels, and rear tail light bezels? Whats the process to paint those?

Also need to paint my door handles, but since they're metal I guess I can scuff them prime base and clear them like the body. Although They will be done off the car.

On plastics I use a adhesion promoter on them. Just to trim black them. On base clear I sand a scuff then seal and paint and clear.

The trim should I strip with chemicals too? Then prime base clear like the body?

Yes that's fine just don't use stripper on the plastic parts.

I just had my front fillers painted a couple months ago and when I spoke to my paint guy he stated that most to all professional paints have an adhesion promoter built into the paint. He told me that surface prep was the most important key to getting paint to lay properly.

That's correct

Restore trim parts? Clean, degrease, surface prep, repair or fill, sand progressively to 400 (or your choice?), surface prep, SEM adhesion promoter (or Sand Free) & SEM trim black. Came out like new. I blacked out a set of straight but well weathered chrome bezels (using sand free) and they are still nice years later.

What is the composition & manufacturer of the fillers? Each may have a specific best practices. My painter went with prep, prime & base as above on fiberglass.
