Paint Question

I have a silly question... my car needs paint in general anyway, but I'm touching up trim parts in the meantime to spruce it up anyway. I was curious about the grille. How were they painted from the factory? I never really observed this on any cars or pictures. Pictures are too hard to tell really.

Was the grille satin black to match the trim parts? Or should it be glossed to match the body? I wanna clean mine a little and hit it with a coat to make it look a little sharper. What should I do?

ok.. wasnt sure if that was the case or not. So if I hit it with satin black it'll look fine? Kinda medium gloss I guess. Thanks for clearing me up on that.

Satin black should be fine. I've used the same technique to paint my headlight bezzels. Two years later and they still look great.
