Hey everyone,

Im planning on getting a complete repaint either this or next month. Im want to try and find a place that can do REALLY good work. Anyone know the price range im looking at, and where I should take the car?

Aloha,
Cale

I know central auto body does excellent work but with anything an excellent job means you also pay a lot more also....they do a lot of exotic and european cars....

watch out for the really cheap or side job kinda action...a friend of ours repainted his truck and it took more than 3 months...and 3 months later it was a ****ty job...they prepped the truck ready to spray and took a week later to spray....now it has fisheyes in the paint...

if anything be a regular customer...that way you can bitch if things dont turn out the way you like it..

RN auto body and paint, I think his name is Roy, he did quite a few of GN's and he painted my friends GNX, he does excellent work! I seen his work!. ph. 732-0069 he is located in Kapahulu.

Central Auto Body also do excellent work.

El's Auto body does great work too. He's located in mapunapuna on waiwai loop.

Hey everyone,

I went down to RN Auto today, they quoted me 4k, and a time period of 2 months. This paint job will be for my 86 Shelby Omni (extremely small car). Does this sound reasonable? What kind of time periods should I be looking at?

Aloha,
Cale

Most shops would rather do touch-up work for the insurance companies rather than complete repaints. Too much time and basically a losing proposition. As I got my SS back Friday (looks great!) and I got the final bill, He discounted the labor 50%, and I know he didnt charge me for all the time actually involved, I still wound up at a little over $3300.00 (was supposed to be just over 5900) As they started to strip the factory finish, we found the doors had been previously repaired, and the patches were actually what was rusting. I also had him fill (weld)the holes for the aftermaket side moding that was on the car. The car was pretty straight, and looks better than when it was new... IF the paint job was for a daily driver, I would probably do it myself, but as this is my toy, I'll spend the bucks....
