Paint the gas tank?

Gas tank paint option:

  • Fresh coat of black paint to keep everything black under there.

I cleared mine, love the natural look, the contrast looks tight.

Was that new tank that was cleared? Not sure if a used one can be made to look like that?

Yeah it was new, but a very fine wire brush on a drill would probably do wonders for an old tank. I would have liked to find out but my tank was completely shot. :frown:
 
Well I decided to go silver. Stripped the old black paint off with a wire wheel on my drill.

It is very silver and shiny now :-)

Put several coats of clear on there to keep it from rusting.

I should have a picture or two in a few days.

I ordered new rubber and stainless straps so I can't put the tank on until they arrive.

Question - what is that bandaid patch looking thing on the top of the tank???
