Painting Steering Wheel

Has anyone painted a GN steering wheel with the paint Kirban's offers for the interiors? It's Kirbans p/n 6822.
I've used this paint on other parts of the interior and it looks great and matches almost perfect. But I'm not sure about the actual steering wheel itself. Any input is welcomed!

Usually the steering wheel is a dyed item. Spray paint won't last too long on an item that constantly sees use, grease, friction. My $.02

I took mine to a cobbler locally, they did a great job for under $20
