Has anyone painted their TTA firewall? If so, any suggestions like
can I do it from canned paint or should I really get a pint mixed and use a gun, etc...

I spray painted inner finderwells and firewall of my old 80 chevy truck and it turned out awsome.

I got non-gloss spray paint and clear coat spray paint.

Lay down a nice coat of paint, let it dry and clear it.

I painted mine and if you want the best results go get a pint of the RIGHT color mixed and spray it with a touch up gun (smaller pot gun) then use a good clear (also from your paint store). The good clear does 2 things -it is easier to keep clean and it a thicker finish which makes it a lot more chip and scratch resistant than our old spray BOMB!;)

At the risk of sounding dumb, is that a universal or GM paint code? I'm used to seeing numbers by brand, like Dupont, PPG, House of Kolor, etc.

40U is the short number. Use WA8554 if you are going to have a professional supply shop mix it up for you.
