We have a Real Street Challenge in Paris once a month.We have just gotten this going to get some racing off the street.We run heads up,instant green, whoever gets to the end of the track first.Instant green is where the tree drops from stage to green,just like a stop light.We have the carb class and the EFI class.The carb class runs anywhere from 5.0's to 6.50's.Right now the fastest EFI is 6.80's.I know some of the Buicks on here can best that.You must run mufflers,tag,inspection and insurance.Go to www.smittysspeedshop.com for more info.The first race is May 22nd.We also have a cruise night the Sat. after if anyone is interested.Thanks.

Sorry guys,I posted that wrong.The first race is May 21st,qualifying usually starts around 7.00pm,I'll post exact times when it gets closer.The other races are June 18th,July 16th, and August 20th.Like I said we'll have a T-n-T the next day and a cruise night the Sat. after each one.I'm probably the only Buick from here that'll race.There are 2 more but I have to do some persuading to talk em' into it.The rest are LS1's,LT1's, and a few Mudstains of course.When you go to Smittys,go to the lounge.BTW our track isn't strict on rules,I've seen low 6 second cars with no cage run all night.
No problem.So far if you come there will be 3 Buicks involved,unless Jerry grows some nutz and races.LOL.The Mudstain group had a fire at there shop the other night and completely BBQ'ed 3 of the fastest cars in Paris,not to mention 2 other stock stangs and 2 4-wheelers that were in the shop too.It seems race fuel and cranking your car with a fuel leak don't mix!I'll keep ya'll posted.Thanks David.

Yeah,bring as many as possible.People up here think V8's are the only way to go fast.I know the first one is the same week as the GS Nats though.Get on Jerry's A$$,I think he'll go for it.BTW we tried to keep the rules simple as you can tell.It's not like you get to tech a car that pulls up beside you at a stop light.LOL

Jerry,I wasn't dogging on you.Just trying to get a little interest in the race.David asked about you at the GMHTP car show last year so I thought I'd tell him I'd try to get you to race which I have been doing on Smitty's for the past month.I never stated my car would go 7.20's that I remember.I'm hoping for atleast 7.80's with the new te-44 and the new injectors.I did not slow your old car down at all.The night I was at the dragstrip I forgot my fuel pressure gauge so it was leaning out just a little.I have never raced your car at all,so bring it to the track next Friday night and we will settle this.Don't be scared,if I slowed your old car down you know I prolly can't tune this one.

Thanks only had them on for about 2 weeks. I never did see you out there? but there was a ****load of people plus I didn't run very well so I was busy with the car. Hope to do better at Paris.

Is anyone coming with you?The Dragstrip is about 5 miles east of Paris on HWY 82.It's about halfway between Paris and my house where we had the BBQ and burnout party last year and the year before.Just tell em' you're racing in the Real Street Shootout and we will be seperated into two classes when we are called.There is race fuel sold at the track.There should be a turbo smallblock 67 Camaro making his first passes on 10 in. tires in the faster class,it may get exciting.Hope to see some of the rest of ya'll here.

The gates open at 6:00pm but racing won't start for awhile.We usually start time trials around 7-7:30 depending on the number of cars.It should be $15 to race and fuel is sold at the track.BTW anyone who is beat out will be allowed to test-n-tune and grudge race as the night goes on.
