Took the car for inspection today. The combo is like the one in the sig except for a te-63 and a powerplate. No egr function, port has been filled and milled out.Just bolted on my 3" ATR cat and drove it down to the station.here are the readings:
standard current reading result
(25mph)
hc 152 65 pass
CO 0.97 0.02 pass
CO2 15.1
O2 0.1
NOX 1082 504 pass
Dilution >6.0% 15.1% pass

(15mph)
hc 157 122 pass
co .88 0.29 pass
co2 14.6
o2 0.4
nox 1184 701 pass
dilution >6% 14.9% pass

I wonder how much self-egr that cam provides. I guess its a bit more with a functioning cat allowing some backpressure. Maybe Bruce knows this one because I believe he is runing that cam in his ryde.

I would like to see NOx readings with no cat to see how much lack or EGR and the cam might help each other out.

Interesting idea.Might have been higher NOX without the cat for sure.I was surprised it passed, the guy at the station saw it and said it might not pass because of all the changes I made to the car.He was surprised too.I have an egr valve and solenoid in place for stock looks but they are not functional.I had fuel pressure set at 45# line off and 21/19 timing base set up on the T+.

Oh, no way dude, not knocking it. Happy as hell you got it through. I'm just curious about WHY NOx passed. You much have cool chambers or retarded timing, or like I suggested, some self EGR in that cam. I'm mostly curious because I do emissions testing in NJ and am curious WHY it passed, and if it can be repeated :p

I passed the sniffer test with flying colors in my T. Slapped on a stock airbox and 3 cat and set the fuel pressure at 25 psi static:)

Drove it around in 0-40 mph traffic for half an hour before the test to get it hot.

All this on 50# injectors, street strip chip and 210/210 billet roller cam...

The tester checked 3 times to make sure the probe was in the exhaust.

I should have told him it runs on rice!!!

I also forgot to mention that I have the 160* t-stat still in there. It was a pretty cool morning probably high 40s.I drove it straight to the station which is like 5 blocks from my house. It didnt have much time to heat up.It was staying right around 160*.

Congrats man! I know the feeling. I was dreading taking the GN for it's yearly test. First yr w/o egr due to the Champions. I installed the 3" ATR cat, unplugged the fans and drove it to the station. It was about 35 outside. Passed fine.....although I did have to hook up the fans while it was going 25mph on the rollers-----temp was up to 206:eek: Here are the results....
25/25 test
hc 012 152 allowed
co .01 .97 allowed
no 0354 1082 allowed

50/15 test
hc 013 157 allowed
co .01 .88 allowed
no 0853 1184 allowed

I really thought I was going to blow the NOx part but it all worked out somehow. Not going to argue.

The guy checked the probe I don't know how many times before he would go on with the test.I was sure the 50s would be rich.I did nothing to change my street tune either.Just added a hi flow cat in place of the h-pipe.I am curious of the same things Jim mentioned.Possibly a little low speed reversion of exhaust gas due to overlap in the cam maybe?I am curious of the effects of overlap and duration on the emmissions.I wonder if a longer exh duration would work better or worse. The trend in cams seems to be single pattern or dual with a longer exhaust dur.
