The electrically connected solenoid over on the passenger side valve cover, has 1 open vent tube and 1 vent tube covered with foam. Anybody know if a resistor can be plugged in place of the solenoid to keep the service engine soon light from coming on?

I am hoping to not have to go to that much trouble. On my '02 Vette Z06, for the 1 to 4 skip-shift (CAGS) instead of any of the aftermarket by-passes, you can just plug in the correct ohm resistor, tape it up, and you are good to go for keeping the SES light from coming on.

Gary support our vendors go to Hye Tech and purchase an XFI system and that should take care of your ses light issue good luck.

Extender chip w/ it unplugged = no SES light

Should work. My solenoid which worked when taken off the car - 35 ohms.

Let me see if I've got this straight, Al. You're suggesting that instead of buying a Radio Shack $1.00 35 ohm resistor I should support a TB.Com supplier and buy a XFI system. OK, Al, about how much are they?

Gary ripping out the stock computer & converting to an XFI besides supporting your local vendor will also elevate your status with the elite tuners of the community. Added benifit It will also enable you to turn an 11 second car to a 12 second one.

sorry Gary can't help you with the female part just your car problems keep in mind this is a car forum. Sorry but i have to be a good boy.

Yes, you have to be a good boy and mind your vernacular.

easy fix just pull the light bulb behind the dash and ses light gone.
Thanks, Al, but then the SES light would be disabled for everything else also.
It would be better just to use a resistor in it and see if that deletes the SES light from that feature.

Gary,

You can have a chip burned with no wastegate duty cycle. With no duty cycle you can unplug and remove your wastegate solenoid without getting a check engine light. This is what we did for guy's running external waste gates on stock ECM setups.
