We have just got a new drag strip built and open here in Union SC.So my plans are after letting my GN set to long while dirt track racing, is to get it running and then getting it back to kick a** stage.
I bought this car new in March of 1988 and soon after had all the local guys pissed off because every weekend at the local street racing my GN quickly became King of the hill. Only a few simple mods,chip,K&N...etc the car quickly beacme a killer of all the Mustangs,Camaros,Firebirds and alot of old school hot rods. We used to go about an hour away every Thursday to test and tune and the car would run 8.30-8.40 in 1/8 and was pretty much stock.
In 1992 my daughter was born and came home from the hospital in the GN.She has always had that hot rod bug.
Since then alot of mods to the GN and she was running 7.40-7.70's in 1/8 and Im known around town by this car.
My daughter is 17 now and I bought her a 2009 Corolla S which is a safe reliable car, but................she is hearing crap from her generation at school...Hondas,Mitsubishis....especially since the new strip is open.
So after I give her some coaching on building boost, watching the scanmaster and doing a burn out,Im gonna unleash her and the GN on the teenage boys in a few weeks and stop all the trash talking.

That is awesome. I can't imagine the "shrinkage" she is going to cause.

My 4 year old daughter calls it daddy's black car. I keep telling her to convince mommy to let daddy spend more money on it since it will be here high school ride.

Im not gonna let her drive around in the car without me.We all know that these cars can and will "get away from you",especially on a damp/slick road.
We also know that street racing was alot different in our youth, so she will do at the track only. I dont want someone trying to pick a race with her red light to red light...Ill do that stuff.Especially no top end crap that we were all dumb enough to do (even after we all promised we wouldnt). She's pretty smart and has a damn good reaction time on this game we played..(made me feel old). She'll do fine and the GN coming out of hibernation should make me feel young again.
My GN still looks really clean and almost new on the outside, the interior is really good but has a few places here and there.Had it painted a few years ago with 3 coats of Dupont Chroma Base and the shine is still great and taken care of.

I have a 4 year daughter as well, she calls mine the "vroom vroom" car :D

She giggles hysterically if I get on it a little bit. Definitely a future "car girl"...
