I notice according to paypal site they will side with a buyer if item was not recieved & refund $$

I sent an item which arrived & I have proof it arrived, but the buyer is trying to put in a claim because item was broken.

I can't find anything on PP website about refunding for broken item. So this I assume will not fly.

Any Experts here on this subject?

If it is broken and the pieces are in the box it should be the shipping Co. fault but you as the seller has to file the claim because you will have to state that the part was not broke when shipped. He maybe filing the claim as documentation so paypal will follow up to make sure you file the claim with the shipping Co. So if it is broke and he can show you pics of it you should contact the shipping Co to get his money back.

Actually the buyer has filed a claim with UPS. I faxed UPS some info & told the buyer I would pass the $$ along when UPS sent check to me. Not sure why UPS sends check to Seller??????

Anyway she filed something with PAYPAL. It is out of my hands on how long UPS takes to payout insurance. DOH women they are cute but Brainless! :p

With any shipping company the SHIPPER takes out the insurance when shipping.

Therefore YOU make the claim and get the check.

It is possible with some places to waive the policy and they get to make the claim and get the check but that could complicate the transaction.

The broken item and all pieces should be returned to you and you refund the buyer their money most likely with shipping charges both ways as well.

Usually upon receipt of the broken stuff, but refund in advance if you trust them and they don't trust you which seems to be in this case.

Paypal and their grievance policy only complicates the issue and refund policy.

I'd get them to rescind the claim with Paypal in advance of you offering the refund.

You should come to terms with the buyer ASAP and most likely refund their money no questions asked if you want good "feedback" and business experiences.

If you don't care then just wing it. :D

Just my .02.
