I was wandering if anyone has built their own check valve and PCV unit? I need to do something to stop the oil from getting to my throttle body and I have seen mention of this several times throughout my search. I was not lucky enough however to find the placement of this check vavle (is it before or after the PCV) or a listing of part numbers to make this work. If anyone has any of this information it would be a great help to me.
Thanks

I put a clear fuel filter in between the pcv valve and the throttle body and it just slowly collects in the filter and does not get to the tb.It has kept the oil and the knock out for about a month now. When it gets saturated I will toss it and get another for 2 bucks.Works for me.

The check valve doesn't stop oil from being sucked through the pcv valve into the throttle body, it keeps boost from blowing through the pcv valve and pushing oil out of the pan and valve cover gaskets (and everywhere else).

my simple setup has been great.I tried a few check valve methods and still would get a little oil in the tb.I have had the fuel filter on for about 2-3 months now and the other day I peeked the vacuum block on the tb and it had no trace of oil. Also my knock has stopped pretty much. Before I would get oil all in the tb now I don't.Simple and it works for me.

If you are using a Delco PCV it has the checkvalve built right in.Kirbans has the one you need.I use a cheap Sears(pep boys has a cheaper one)wator/oil separator for a shop air compressor.Works great and you can drain it when it starts to fill. It's also designed to handle well over 100 psi which a plastic gas filter cannot approach in strength. If that sucker bursts while on a run you could have a big mess and maybe worse.
