Just got sprayed for the first time. Level 1 OC certification. If you have never done it, DON'T!!!! WORST thing I have ever done. I hope I never have to go through that again.

I will never understand how a criminal can get sprayed and keep resisting.

Seemed to help at first...but then it was back to full blast just a few minutes later!!! Not worth it! It was a tease!

Cocaine is a powerful drug

I got hit with it in a bar fight back in the college days, turned around to see who was coming up behind me and BAM right in the eyes...........................................FIGHT OVER.......................at least for me anyway

I told you before you left. I got sprayed a few years back at security school. Even with the gobs of water and baby shampoo, after the adrenaline wore off, I still started hyperventilating. I really thought I was going to die.

I got spray so many times i lost count...LOL as an MP in the army we get sprayed every year for certification..then at my civilian job in a local enforcement agency you get sprayed then go through a series of obstical it was fun watching and getting sprayed.......
The best way to alleviate lots of the heat is dairy product ice cream, milk from my understand something in milk neutralize the oleresin capsium.....

The stuff we use works. However when you put drugs in the mix like PCP watch out...

OC Fun

Yeah, fun! It's been a year since we had to get sprayed for the security company I work for. The company has a government contract to provide security to federal buildings and employees. Anyway, we use a Sabre Red spray. 10% OC 2,000,000 SHU's. It has an orange tint. I got hit and my kept my eyes shut for an hour before trying to open them. Flushing with cold water feels good only temporarily. Time is the only thing lessens it. I would rather be tased over and over than to be OC'd.

Be there, done that, t'was not fun. Had to get hit with a shock shield for certification too. Another fun thing.

any water will suffice when your trying to neutralize the burning affect, sorry to hear about your experience, i was a bouncer for 5 years at 2 clubs, one night there was a cinco de mayo event taking place and the club was over packed, there was about 12 bouncers working that evening when a fight broke out between our staff and about 20+ gang members from long beach, bottle swinging girls not included, well the fight carried itself out into the parking area and we were getting the best of them until the sheriffs showed up spraying everyone with that crap, in between crying for my mommy and swinging at anything that came with in arms length, i'd say that stuff is pretty effective, like slow305 said when the adrenaline wears off and your senses take back control boy o boy. I prefer pepper spray on my nachos not on my face.

I remeber getting sprayed for cert at Hood. I took it twice trying to be a stud, haha. They got me on video screaming with snot bubbles. Just when you think it's over, you hop in the shower and it starts all over again. Good times.

bubblesss and snot dang that brings me back to the basic training.....when i went through gas chamber.............that i think that was a messed up day for me......and that over OC.....i would take OC any time or day.....as far as tazers go done that too....LOL....

Some people will simply react differently to it based on how their mucus membranes tollerate it.

I am completely useless if sprayed. My eyes clamp shut like a vice and I cannot open them for chit and am totally defenseless and cannot see for literally 30-40 minutes and that was with 5% OC, not 10 or 15% OC. The percentage does not make it stronger, just last longer.

The only thing that helps slightly is milk and that doesn't really do anything but take away some of the burning.

I have been sprayed (3) times in training. The last time was when I went for my OC instructor certification. I wasn't actually required to get sprayed but since I knew how bad it effects me personally I wanted it on record.

This primarily because if someone takes my spray away from me and sprays me with it or they use their own Mace/OC I will shoot them immediately and be 100% justified because I will be completely defenseless and will either be disarmed and shot, stabbed or beat to death.

This scenereo was brought up in class and the FBI themselves have stated that anyone within 15 feet of you who has Mace/OC is considered to be using deadly force against a cop. Same thing goes for the Taser.

I was actually a little suprised that the instructor stated that deadly force was an option but when you think about it rationally what else could disable a cop faster and more effectively other then a gun itself.

Btw, OC sprays with cause the suspect to catch on fire if they are sprayed then Tasered. That's no BS either. We did several tests to back that up. In fact, we are in the process of exchanging our OC sprays for new ones that won't go up in flames like the older ones do.
