I made five runs and the last was the best. :) I was running 93 octane and SMC progressive alcohol. Extender chip had 24*/21* timing, fuel pressure was 41 static with 2% added at WOT for first two runs and 4% added for last three runs. Tires were 27/10.5-15 QTP with 15#. Temp. was mid-70s. Runs are listed in order:

1.777
4.981
26.40
7.683
91.93
23.7# boost
0 RTD
EGT=1537

1.783
4.887
27.95
7.485
96.05
27# boost
2.3 RTD :(
EGT=1586

4.662
32.48
7.280 :D
95.03
28# boost
1.1 RTD
EGT=1566

MPH was fairly consistent. I just need to get the 60' into the 1.5x range more often.

Thanks guys. SMC came on at 10# and full flow at 20#. I was running methanol and I locked the TCC at 77 mph.

Good times! Congrats!

Believe it or not you should be going faster though!
I'm running the same turbo with stock intercooler and TB and crappy 60' times with 20# boost and going 7.39 and the same mph. You've got more potential man! Have at it!! :biggrin:

TIMS87---Great ET. Are you running alcohol or race gas? What timing? Stock heads?

Stock heads, cam etc... on C-16 no alchy and 24* if I remember right.
Actually the engine has not been opened except to put a timing chain and front and rear seals. She's still strong with 112K on the odometer! Love these cars!! :D My 60' still suck though... 1.70's...

I'm really impressed that your car runs that well with only 20# boost and a lousy 60'. I must really be doing something wrong. :confused:

Jim

I too must really be doing something wrong. My personal best is a 7.66 @ 90 mph with a 1.64 60ft @ 19 psi that was with 21 degrees of timing also with 7.80 o2's no knock i was using some 28/11.50 15 slicks

mods are in sig

Pat

I guess we need more track time to tune. I plan on going to Piedmont Sunday afternoon for test and tune. Maybe you and Sam can make it out there.

My extender chip was a 98 oct chip w 23/21* with launch assist on and set at 1022 on the DS. The trans+ was set at 5210. I was only getting 5# on the line for launch. Going easy obviously! :D I was starting to push thru.
I like keeping the boost low, so I won't hurt it. Its nice to know I can go faster though!

That mph is still amazing at only 20# boost with stock heads. :)

I don't understand what the 1022 and 5210 settings are. I don't have DS or T+, only T.

The settings are referring to the extender chip which gives you further adjustments over its basic programming and the Trans+ allows you to adjust more also. The end result is that I can play with both my WOT and Low rpm timing and fuel mixtures. The launch control lets me launch with a lean mixture to put more heat in the turbo for spool-up. That's a very basic description. Thanks for the compliments! I'm still learning too! :biggrin:

I don't understand how that car is going that fast with stock heads and 20 psi of boost.

I have a friend that has a engine that is .020 over with ported heads , 206/206 atr roller with a 62 turbo msd 50's dequik I/C and self tuned chip
@ 21 psi of boost he went a 7.21 @ 96 mph with a low 1.60's 60 ft on a 95 degree day.

When i had my car ont he dyno my AF was 12.1 @ 20 psi of boost so i don't think there is any more tuning for me to do my car leaves so good with 23 degrees timing down low any more than that the car just explodes on the tires.

SloGN, I wish I could explain it. I have the time slip and several witnesses to back me up. The guys around here make me feel bad because they say I should be going faster and want me to crank it up! I don't want to chuck the crank out the oil pan, so I'll wait til I get my spare engine built over the next year. The new intercooler is coming for X-mas, so we'll see what effect it has on the combination.

TIMS87--How many owners has the car been through? Maybe someone opened the motor prior.

I'm the third owner I believe. I pulled the engine last winter to do the seals and timing chain. I can say with certainty it has never been opened. Original chain with five broken teeth and gaskets were the factory ones. Heck one cylinder head still had a factory sticker on it behind the accessory bracket.

:) Hey Look,

See you got that 60ft figured out :D

Told you that was all that was holding you back.

And Tim has one of those cars that just runs good apparently. Some of these cars are an exception to the rule. My last T Type I abused badly. I put over 250 passes on it with 25psi in ONE season. Car running 11.70's all day. I finally started getting the 2-3 flair on the shift with a stock Tranny.
Never smoked a lick and had over 100K on it when I got it.

The one I have now broke the tranny on it's 2nd pass I made :mad: And I've already blown a head gasket.

But I don't think either of you guys should be disappointed with what you're running. :)
