COOL 84... How did you like the spearco setup, did it perform well? Did you notice a big difference in performance? how much more boost. Did your car idle ok? Sorry for all the questions. just trying to determine if i want to ad this kit or not. i'm trying to get more performance with as little work as possible and i heard that this is very easy to ad. thanks, let me know...

I installed the Spearco kit back in '95. The power increase was nice, I went 13.9@101mph with just the intercooler and a K&N on only 14psi.

The idle was not good. I thought I had done something wrong and spent months trying to trace the problem with no luck. My car was down for a while so I let a friend borrow the kit on his hotair. He had the same idle problems. I had the intercooler pressure tested and it was fine. Once I went with a big turbo, the idle problem got worse. I figured it was the placement of the throttlebody before the turbo that caused the problem so I relocted it to the pressure side and the idle quality returned. With the big turbo and that kit, my car wouldn't hold an idle in park or neutral. It would surge up and down and eventually die. While driving, if I let off the gas too fast, it would die also. Once I moved it I got much, much better spool, power, and idle.

would it be safe to say not to go with this setup??? if i do get this set up, how did u relocate the TB? thanks for your input. do u have any pics when u had it on yours? please send em. thanks again
