My little daily driver has been giving me fits with the coolant hoses getting old. I have replaced all I could think of and then one more eluded me. It was a heater line on the throttle body. The oddball design is it is 1/2" ID on one end and 3/8" ID on the other and the OEM (Saab) made the hose like that. Actually most of their hoses have weird end sizes but I have been able to find workarounds. Now that they are out of business, I am kind of on my own. I found a plastic double ended barb that is 1/2" x 3/8". It is black plastic and fairly beefy. I bought it at a pond supply store. I just worry how it will stand up to 200° coolant. It fit beautifully and is a great solution to my need but I don't need a weak link in the system. I am looking for a brass one to swap out with it. So far I am into it for a whopping $2.00, haha.
