Im on my first build for the 2004r and it just seems weird to me that their is so many plastic parts. when I built my 350 I dont remember any plastic parts?

Anyways I have a new sprag that has a plastic cage?

And several plastic thrust washers?

Are these ok to use in High HP situations?

Thanks!

Yes they are better than steel/babbit washers. Thats why GM used them. Actually nylon in construction. Nylon will wear steel.

The plastic cage is just there to locate the elements and has no affect on being plastic. Just like the smaller front wheel bearings that have the pastic cage. Just hold the roller bearings in place. No load on the plastic.
